Pradera 5L is a herbicide specifically designed for controlling weeds in grassland areas. Weeds in grassland compete with the grass for vital resources such as light, nutrients, and moisture, resulting in reduced grass yields. Pradera is a three-way herbicide mixture that effectively controls a wide range of problematic weeds, making it beneficial for both farms and livestock. It can be applied to established leys and permanent pastures from the 1st of March to the 31st of August without negatively affecting the grass.

Achieve Optimum Performance:

-Active growth: Pradera is a translocated herbicide that is absorbed by the leaves of weeds. It is crucial that the target weeds have fully emerged before application and that thorough spray coverage of the weed foliage is achieved. Weeds that emerge after application will not be controlled.

-Weed growth stage: The growth stage of the weeds at the time of application significantly impacts the performance of Pradera. Timing is particularly important for controlling docks (rosette stage), thistles (rosette stage), and buttercups (during active growth just before flowering).

-Water volume: The recommended water volume for application is 200-400 litres per hectare. In dense swards, it is advisable to use the higher water rate to ensure adequate coverage.

-Clover Safety: Pradera will kill clover present in the grassland. Therefore, if clover is an essential component of the sward, this herbicide should not be used.

-Noxious Weeds: It is important to check for poisonous weeds, such as ragwort, before treatment, as they pose a significant threat to livestock. While these weeds may become sweet and palatable after treatment, they remain highly toxic. Remove noxious weeds from the field or allow them to become unpalatable before returning livestock.

-Cultivations: Avoid rolling or harrowing crops within 7 days of treatment with Pradera.

-Tank Mixing: Pradera can be mixed with other herbicides approved for agricultural grassland use to enhance and broaden the spectrum of weed control.

-Hurler: Tank mixes Pradera with up to 1.25 litres per hectare of Hurler for improved control of docks, especially in high-density situations.

-MCPA 500 g/l: Tank mix Pradera with up to 1.3 litres per hectare of MCPA 500 g/l for improved control of various grassland weeds, including rush and plantains.
