Glanbia Ireland has joined forces with Teagasc, the Centre for Men’s Health in Carlow and the Irish Heart Foundation, Teagasc, The HSE, IT Carlow and University College Dublin to examine approaches to assisting male farmers in improving their Cardiovascular health. This men’s heart health initiative is in association with the research been carried out under the ‘Farmers Have Hearts’ Programme.

Research has shown that Irish male farmers are a high risk group for heart disease. We understand that finding the time to look after your health and fitting in a healthy lifestyle can be challenging.

Farming is never 9-5; working conditions can be unpredictable and a danger to your health if not managed. This program, ‘Heart Health on the Go’ aims to support you to make changes to your lifestyle to improve your heart health.

What is on offer?

A free male heart health check from a qualified Irish Heart Foundation nurse at your local Glanbia Ireland location.

Measurements of cholesterol, blood pressure, blood glucose and weight.
Results given on same day and hands-on advice on how to improve your health receiving practical tips and follow-up encouragement and support to help you make changes to your lifestyle and improve your health. Small changes make big differences!
As part of ‘Heart Health on the Go’, you will be invited for a free repeat health check at 52 weeks
Follow up support service by phone and text messaging offering personal tailored advice to help you make simple lifestyle changes specifically designed for you.
