Maximising Clover for sustainable growth
Tirlan in conjunction with Teagasc invite you to our 2nd Future Farm walk of 2024.
On the 5th of April 2024 from 11am – 1pm, Kevin Murphy, one of the Future Farm Participants will host a farm walk to discuss clover incorporation across his farm and his learnings to date.
Kevin milked on average 300 cows and sold 513 KgMS/cow in 2023. He has been incorporating clover across the farm for a number of years and is part of the Teagasc Clover 150 trial. As part of the farm walk the establishment and incorporation of clover will be discussed in detail, fertiliser strategies to compliment clover and in addition to this there will also be a discussion in relation actions to improving water quality.
At the Farm Walk you will also have the opportunity to meet with Teagasc experts as well as the Tirlán’s FarmGen team.
The Living Proof Future Farm Programme
The joint Living Proof Future Farm Programme involves 11 farmers from across the Tirlán catchment area. The five-year programme is part of the wider Signpost farmers for climate action programme, it continues to demonstrate best practices in delivering economical and environmental improvements on the participating family farms.
