Hartog Grass Mix is a mixture of dried grass and grass pellets. The grass is dehydrated immediately after mowing to ensure the preservation of nutrients and a constant quality. The fields where the grass for the Grass Mix grows are located near our facilities in the Netherlands which allows us to carry out strict controls on the presence of "weeds". Roughage is the most important part of the horses' diet. Therefore, the addition of high quality roughage is an advantage for all horses. Hartog Grass Mix can be added to the ration to increase the amount of forage or can be mixed with concentrates, balancers and/or supplements. Hartog Grass Mix can be a welcome addition to the ration of sensitive horses, to ensure the intake of nutritious roughage. The addition of roughage to a concentrated feed increases the volume of the feed and therefore the chewing time and saliva production. This more natural feeding behavior promotes the moral and physical well-being of your horse. This is particularly useful for nervous horses or those with sensitive stomachs. Thanks to our dehydration process, immediately after cutting, there is no risk of mould formation. In addition, the absence of dust makes Hartog Grass Mix particularly suitable for sensitive horses (such as those suffering from equine asthma). With its short and tender structure, Hartog Grass Mix is the ideal forage substitute or supplement for horses with dental problems as well as for mares and their foals.
