Winter Flu Vaccine Clinics Coming to Tirlán Stores

As the colder months approach, Tirlán is proud to support the HSE Autumn/Winter Vaccination Programme by hosting Winter Flu Vaccine Clinics in selected stores throughout October and November. These clinics aim to make flu vaccination more accessible to rural communities, helping to safeguard the health of our customers, suppliers, and staff.

Why get vaccinated?

The Flu is a common infection of the upper respiratory tract caused by the influenza virus. It usually occurs during the winter months. It can lead to serious illness, especially for older adults, children, and those with underlying health conditions.

Who should get the Flu Vaccine?

For certain ‘at risk’ groups, the Flu Vaccine is highly recommended as they are more likely to experience serious complications if they catch the flu.

The 2025/26 Flu Vaccination Programme offers free flu vaccines to eligible groups, including:

• Aged 60 and older
• People with chronic illnesses or compromised immune systems (such as Cancer, heart disease, kidney/liver disease, neurological or respiratory disease, diabetes and other metabolic disorders, immunocompromise due to disease or treatment, Body mass index ≥ 40kg/m2, serious mental health conditions
• All pregnant women (any stage)
• Healthcare workers
• Household contacts of people with underlying chronic health conditions.
• Carers and household contacts of people at increased risk of influenza related complications
• People in regular contact with poultry, pigs, or waterfowl

Who is the vaccine not suitable for?

• Those with a history of severe allergic reactions to a previous dose of the vaccine or any of its ingredients.
• Those who take certain combinations of medicines that affect the immune system

Clinic Locations & Booking

Clinics will be held in selected Tirlán stores across the country.

Walk-ins may be accepted, but booking is recommended to ensure availability.

Wear loose clothing on date of vaccine
