Tirlán farm family suppliers are reminded to declare their sustainability actions on Tirlán FarmLife today, to continue to receive the 0.5 cent per litre (Including VAT) Sustainability Action Payment.

Suppliers who declare at least seven options from a list of 20 in 2026 will continue to receive their Sustainability Action Payment in 2027.

The purchase of protected urea counts as two actions towards meeting the required seven actions.

Farm Nitrogen Balance (N Balance) is also included as a measure. Under the new Nitrates Action Programme (NAP) by the 31^st of December 2027, a farm-gate Nitrogen Balance, is mandatory for all farms in derogation. Suppliers can access their farm N Balance through AgNav, which is a free, online sustainability platform developed by Teagasc, ICBF and Bord Bia.

Supporting the use of native grains. Use of GAIN dairy feed guarantees that Irish grown grain is included in cows’ diets and is also an action available for Tirlán farm family suppliers.
