Governance Academy: Sowing the Seeds 2026 applications now open

As part of Tirlán’s five-tier Governance Academy, designed to foster capability, confidence, and an inclusive governance culture, Sowing the Seeds remains our entry-level programme, introducing participants to how co-ops operate, how Tirlán’s business is structured, and how members can play an active role in their Co-op.

What Participants Can Expect in 2026

The Sowing the Seeds level is a four-module learning journey delivered over two short online sessions and two practical in-person workshops. Building understanding, confidence, and social connection are at the core of each module, each co-delivered by Tirlán and ICOS experts.

Module 1 - Introduction to Your Co-op

Co-operative and Tirlán history and evolution.

A live, interactive 90-minute webinar offering a welcoming introduction to how co-ops work, what makes Tirlán unique, and how governance supports long-term success.

Module 2 - Your Role, Your Co-op: Understanding the Business

Principles of Co-operatives, Tirlán operations, and governance structures

A half-day, in-person session at Tirlán HQ that brings participants inside the business, its operations and governance roles.

Module 3 - Tirlán in the global dairy industry

A 90-minute webinar providing market context, competitive landscape, and the Co-op’s international footprint.

Module 4 -  Effective Communications

A practical, in-person session including a plant tour, focused on communicating with impact and representing the Co-op effectively.
